This is our daughter Karissa, age 12 in this picture. This picture matters because when she was 2 we were told she would never walk or talk normally and may never be able to live an independent life. She has endured years of therapy and while she still struggles has made more progress than they the "experts" thought she would in her lifetime. She continues to surprise us every day with her abilities! This picture matters because this is Karissa's very first trophy after she finished the "lose the Training Wheels" program and learned how to ride a two wheel bike by herself!
