Why-Does this matter?...Why-should we care? Simply put, once a species is extinct, it is gone...FOREVER! Then and only then will we know it's impact on the ecosystem. To quote Chief Seattle, 1854: Earth does not belong to man, Man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, He is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, He does to himself! So, to answer my first questions, It matters to Mother Earth and to mankind to protect this magnificent Bird of Prey!
